Labia Augmentation

Important Questions about Labia Augmentation

During our consultations about labia enlargement, we have noticed that many patients have the same questions. For your convenience, we have listed the most commonly asked.

  1. When can I resume sporting activities?

Sporting activities should not be undertaken for the first four weeks after the procedure, especially high friction sports such as cycling, riding or jogging.

  2. For how long should I refrain from sexual intercourse?

For at least four weeks after the procedure, as the physical stresses during intercourse can disrupt the wound healing process.

  3. Is the timing of the operation dependent on my cycle?

The procedure can be performed at any stage of your cycle, including period days. However, for reasons of hygiene, this is not recommended. Also pads should be used for the first two weeks after the procedure, in place of tampons.

  4. Will my capacity to feel sensations be affected?

Post-operative swelling can cause a slight and temporary loss of sensation.

  5. Is the procedure painful?

The procedure is performed using a local anaesthetic, or if so desired, with sedation or else general anaesthesia, so during the operation no pain is felt. After the anaesthetic has worn off, usually there is moderate pain with a burning sensation, which can be managed with the correct dose of painkillers. 24 hours after the surgery, these symptoms should be almost completely gone, and long term pain should not be expected.

  6. When will I see the final results of the operation?

Most of the swelling will have subsided a month after the operation and within six months any remaining, visible swelling, is usually completely gone.
