Endoscopic Brow Lift

Important Questions about Brow Lifts

During the course of our consultations, we have noticed that many patients ask the same questions regarding brow lifts. For your convenience, we have listed the eight most frequently asked and important below. We hope you find the information useful.

  1. Are the results long lasting? When does a subsequent operation become necessary?

Generally the results are long lasting. They last for at least 10 to 15 years.

  2. After the procedure no visible scars remain, therefore the operation can be carried out on men who have thin hair. In addition, no long-term loss of feeling remains in the scalp, which is always the case when a traditional brow lift has been performed.

  3. Do the screws remain in the cranial bone after the operation, or are they removed along with the clips?

The two screws are painlessly removed together with the clips after one week.

  4. What material are the screws made from and could this material give rise to an allergy?

The screws are made from titanium, which does not create allergies. Exactly the same material is used for making tooth implants.

  5. Can the screws be felt on the scalp?

The screws have a diameter of 1.5 millimetres and stand out a little from the scalp.

  6. After the operation has been successfully completed, can all kinds of sports be taken up again without any risks, e.g. boxing?

    Yes, there are no restrictions.

  7. What factors determine whether the procedure is performed under full anaesthetic or sedation?

With a combination of operations being carried out at the same time, then a full anaesthetic is always used. Otherwise the patient decides which anaesthetic is preferred.

  8. Is the operation as pain-free under sedation, as it is under full anaesthetic?

After injection of the local anaesthetic into the forehead- and temples, one does not experience pain. However, during the procedure the patient may perhaps feel disturbed by unpleasant sensations (such as scratching and drilling to the head). Usually patients don’t remember these after the procedure is completed.
