Surgical Consultation
Although many basic questions may be answered ahead of time, individual advice must be based on a thorough anatomical examination. Working one-on-one with you we discuss your wishes and desires in order to recommend a customized treatment plan. Emphasis is placed on providing detailed information regarding the procedure itself, its risks and benefits, and what you can expect from it. Thus, we feel responsible to address limitations of any given procedure and at times even may discourage you from seeking surgical attention. Our philosophy is that of transparency. Prior to performing surgery aimed at realizing your wishes, you will have the good feeling that all your questions and concerns have been addressed.
Anesthesia Consultation
Following surgical consultation you will be informed by the anesthesiologist regarding the planned type of anesthesia.
Sequence of Treatment
You will receive a folder containing information regarding the date of the procedure as well as the course of events at this date. Preoperatively, you will have the opportunity to relax in a specially designed holding area and speak once again with your surgeon. Postoperatively, you will rest in the recovery room prior to leaving our facility. Optionally you may decide to stay overnight and enjoy the care provided by our professional nursing staff. Prior to discharge your surgeon will provide important information for the postoperative period.
Overnight stay
Following In-patient procedures you will be taken care of in our hospital rooms which is part of our facility. Here you will enjoy professional medical care combined with the convenience of a hotel, including room service. Optionally, you may choose to occupy one of the comfortable suites at the Hotel-Stadt-Freiburg with your family.
